CHOICE OR CHANCE?

Is Destiny a matter of CHANCE or a matter of CHOICE? Day to day life, we see several unexpected events which happen all of a sudden, on the spur of the moment, without being planned. Yes, it is a reality. But do we need to wait for those events which are not in our control?  There comes 90-10 PRINCIPLE from Stephen R Covey, the author of “The Seven Habits of Highly Effective People”. We need to focus on the circle of Influence which is 90% in principle leading only 10% to concerns, which are not in our control.

CHOICE

·        IT IS AN OPTION OR DECISION

·        Be PROACTIVE

·   HABIT 1 of 7 Habits of Highly Effective People by Stephen R Covey

·        See Alternatives, not deadlocks

·        Focus on what you can influence

·        I am free to choose & responsible for my choices

CHANCE

·        Some things are meant to happen to you to teach you how to value life

·        Circle of Concern & Circle of Influence – “90-10” PRINCIPLE

·   Reference - 7 Habits of Highly Effective People by Stephen R Covey

·        Unknown Unknowns (Not in anyone’s control) – Keep some Reserves

·        What in our control is our responses - Handle them with confidence

·        Ultimately, we call it as fate or destiny! THAT IS REALITY – FACE IT

  1. Hi Jayaraj, I really liked the concept. It's useful for everyone. Specially I loved the introduction part. Great.
Just a humble suggestion - it would have been great if you could explain a bit more on the other points discussed. I have to read the points discussed under Choice and Chance twice to decipher the meaning.
It's really a great skill to make writing brief. I really appreciate that. Also appreciating your efforts to make the ideas you read/learned over the years open in a blog for people to learn and practice. Please keep doing.
    Thanks,
    Honey

    1. Thank you Honey for your time and valuable comments. Yes definitely I will explain a few more on each points as my objective is to give quick tips in less than 200 words wherever possible. As I directly list a set of tips, sometimes I feel understanding very short summary may take more time than reading a detailed explanation. Another approach I can take is break the superset tips further into sub categories for each blog. Again, thanks a lot for your suggestions and that is a great motivation.
